Biomechanics
Variable resistance and a carefully designed movement path, built around the natural work of muscles.
The creator of Nautilus could spend years perfecting a single machine. He kept testing, refining and looking for ways to make it better until he got every detail right. He never settled for good enough. He didn't build machines just to sell them. He built machines that actually worked.
Arthur Jones, the founder of Nautilus, had a profound impact on the evolution of strength training. His obsession with biomechanics led him to develop and test 27 different versions of the Pullover machine over 22 years before finally bringing it to market in 1970. Throughout his career, he designed around 20 machines using a revolutionary cam mechanism.
He championed shorter, more intense workouts. He believed that maximizing results depended on the quality of each rep and engaging muscles through their full range of motion.
“In every position the resistance should be as great as you can overcome – but no greater.”

Arthur Jones is born. 100 years later, his legacy lives on.
The revolutionary Nautilus cam is introduced, adjusting resistance to match the muscles' changing strength throughout each movement.
Nautilus machines become popular in fitness clubs, bringing strength training beyond the bodybuilding community.
CORE Corps Polska supplies clubs with machines developed in the spirit of A. Jones's philosophy: technology should serve people and quality should translate into training effectiveness.
One of the most important solutions built by Arthur Jones was the so-called variable-radius cam. Its profiled shape changes the resistance during the exercise, matching the capabilities of muscles, which vary across phases of movement.
The spiral cams resembled nautilus shells, inspiring Jones to name his machines after them. In 1970, he unveiled his first Nautilus models, opening a new chapter in strength training. The name eventually became that of the company itself, while the distinctive cam became a symbol of his innovative approach to equipment design.

Solid construction and durable components made for intensive use in fitness clubs.
Clear markings and intuitive adjustment let you set up the machine quickly and get back to training.
Ergonomic seats and stable support points help maintain correct body position during exercise.
The reputation of the Nautilus brand and the quality of the equipment support positioning your club in the premium segment.
Stable, well-thought-out designs help you stay in control during exercise and improve safety.
“To me, one of Arthur Jones’s most important ideas is simple: equipment should adapt to the person, not the other way around. At CORE, we share that philosophy. Quality goes beyond technical specifications. It has to prove itself on the gym floor, day after day.”
“At Nautilus, innovation is never an end in itself. What matters is substance: thoughtful biomechanics, carefully calibrated resistance, training comfort and, above all, a real problem worth solving.”
